Halloween Yoga Pose How-To’s

These poses are designed for kids practicing at home, in a yoga studio, or other venue with room to spread out. There is no need to have a yoga mat; a beach towel or carpet is sufficient.
QUEEN
The Queen posture is easy to do.
Just stand tall and inhale for the count of two.
Next exhale slowly through your nose,
What a calming yoga pose.
WITCH
Witch pose can be practiced on Halloween night,
Simply stretch your arms high and bring your palms together tight.
Next bend your knees to become a sturdy chair,
As you sit on your broom and fly through the eerie night air.
JACK-O-LANTERN
Another spooky Halloween yoga pose to do,
Is the Jack-o-Lantern posture…BOO!
To become a Jack-o-Lantern burning bright,
Sit with your legs crossed, shining like a light.
Interlace your hands above you and make a ghoulish grin,
This yoga pose is sure to be a Halloween win!
GHOST
Dressed in all white,
The ghost pose is sure to give a fright.
Stand tall as you inhale and then exhale and say BOO.
That’s all there is to do!
CROOKED TREE
To make your body into the shape of a crooked tree,
Stand tall and count to three.
Next bend one leg and bring your foot to your thigh.
Balancing can be tricky, but give it a try!
Focus your eyes on a single spot.
Yoga improves your concentration a lot.
BLACK CAT
Pretend you are a black cat on Halloween night.
Arch your back as you inhale, you are sure to give a fright.
Exhale your breath as you round your spine,
Yoga helps keep your body aligned.
MUMMY
Relax and unwind with the Mummy pose.
Simply relax and breathe in and out through your nose.
Close your eyes and rest on your back,
With your body straight, not out of whack.
With your arms alongside you and palms facing the ceiling,
Focus on your breath to keep your mind from reeling.
