Lovable, curious Little Mouse is here to help kids use yoga to solve problems and manage emotions in Yoga at the Zoo, the first book in the Little Mouse Adventures series from Teresa Power, the international bestselling author of The ABCs of Yoga for Kids series and Kids’ Yoga Day creator!
Little Mouse and his family live in a cozy burrow nestled in Tammy McDoodle’s backyard. Tammy and her mother love to practice yoga together, and Little Mouse loves to follow along. In this beautifully illustrated book, adorable Little Mouse, along with Tammy’s wise and lovably lazy cat, Mr. Opus, follow Tammy on a field trip to the zoo and meet new animal friends, while learning simple yoga poses along the way.
A new read-aloud favorite, Yoga at the Zoo gently imparts important lessons about friendship, dealing with new situations, and meeting new people. Kids will delight in the adventures of Little Mouse and Mr. Opus, while adults will love watching children apply their new-found yoga skills to quiet their minds and manage stressful situations.
"Meet inquisitive and outgoing Little Mouse, his cat friend Mr. Opus, and his human friend Tammy... No yoga experience is necessary to appreciate the book's quiet mind mentality!"

More Praise
""A sweet and natural connection to the ‘quiet mind’ that yoga can bring... Characters voice good questions and answers in age-appropriate language and voice, gently guiding the story cadence forward at an ideal pace... An excellent example of self-confidence and the inner calm from yoga in this tiny teacher...."
-- Writer's Digest
"A delightful book that introduces the important yoga practices of self-regulation and self-calming in a way that a young child can appreciate. A good first step towards stress management and resilience."
-- Sat Bir Singh Khalsa, Ph.D., Harvard Medical School
"A must share with children! I love this sweet story with imaginative illustrations and a simple message that will truly resonate with kids (and adults)... This book will definitely be my new go-to with students!"
-- Sara J. Weis, Bestselling Author
"Cute story of putting into action things we have learned. Gathering knowledge bears little fruit unless it finds its way into our living. Little Mouse discovers just how handy the yoga lessons he enjoys watching his neighbors do can be in his adventure at the zoo! This adorable and curious little character comes to life in the illustrations by Allen, making it a fun story."
-- Midwest Book Reviews
"A most charming tale of a mouse and his gregarious engagement with animals at the zoo. Each animal shows a yoga pose to Little Mouse. Of equal importance, each animal becomes a new friend to Little Mouse, without regard to size or demeanor. Teresa Power's characters will enchant and endear the reader, the parent or the teacher looking for a beautifully told story."
-- Sybil Blazej-Yee, Children's Librarian Los Angeles
"Whenever Mouse meets a new animal, he is introduced to a new yoga move. Each time Mouse learns a new move, he feels better. Mouse can calm down and have fun... I never tried yoga so when Mouse started learning new moves I tried them. I was able to learn few and even my doggie got to join in! Now I have made up a few of my own when I feel like my heart starts to race or I feel like I have too many wiggles I remember some of the moves Mouse learned. I think this would be a fun book to share with my classmates right after the gym. Sometimes after gym class my friends have a ton of wiggles and being an animal in the zoo is a great way to calm your body plus who doesn’t want to be a lion?"

"I have worked with children for over 8 years and this book would be such great book to introduce to kindergarteners to help them figure out their emotions. It can be hard to understand your feelings when you are a kid, heck it can be hard for us adults. This is such a good to help children be mindful of their heart and learn to listen to how they are feeling."
